A delegation of South Koreans spoke from the White House on Thursday, announcing that North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un wants to meet with President Trump. Kim has agreed that he will not fire any test missiles despite the U.S./ South Korean military exercises that will soon commence. The meeting between Trump and Kim will take place before May, and indications are that Kim will also agree to nuclear disarmament.
Why this Matters: This is the first time in decades North Korea has come even close to capitulating. Yet, the Mainstream Media refuses to give any credit to Trump. Christ Matthews of MSNBC went so far as to say it was the Olympic games that paved the way for Kim’s decision.
How to Pray: Continue to pray for the President as he works this deal through and for the North Korean leadership to make the right decisions. Pray for the ultimate reunification of the peninsula–and praise God for this possibility!
The state of California is the newest target for the Trump Justice Department. A lawsuit was filed Tuesday night alleging three new California laws deliberately interfere with immigration policies. Attorney General Jeff Sessions called the policies “unjust, unfair, and unconstitutional” and is seeking an injunction to block their enforcement.
- CA Law 1 – protects illegal workers against federal immigration enforcement
- CA Law 2 – protects illegals without legal residency; limits state and municipal cooperation with the feds (holding back info that can be shared about illegal inmates.)
- CA Law 3 – gives CA officials the power to monitor and inspect immigrant detention facilities run by or through Homeland Security.
California officials have previously used the 10th Amendment, which guarantees the protection of states’ rights, to defend their actions.
AG Sessions gave a press conference in which he criticized the Oakland mayor for needlessly endangering ICE officers when she warned illegals of upcoming raids. Other problems occurred when business owners would not allow ICE to enter the premises. State officials raided six federal detention facilities, demanding paperwork, and prohibiting ICE from deporting the detainees.
Will Fast and Furious finally be investigated? The DoJ has agreed to give the House Oversight Committee all documents related to Operation Fast and Furious, a gun scandal that was the pet project of Eric Holder, Obama’s Attorney General.
Under Fast and Furious, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) put 2,000 weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartels. The weapons carried markings which could be traced back to ATF and were found at multiple crime scenes in the U.S. and Mexico. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was found murdered by an ATF-released weapon.
AG Sessions put out a statement on Wednesday saying this release of documents to the House Committee is an important step to make sure the public finally receives all of the facts.
House GOP members are insisting that Sessions appoint a second Special Counsel to investigate Hillary’s email server scandal and shut down the witch hunt into the Trump-Russia collusion scandal.
In an interview with Shannon Bream of Fox News, Sessions said he has already appointed a Department of Justice official to investigate the issue. He said he chose a person outside of Washington and that the investigation is underway. He has also promised to open a probe into FISA (surveillance) abuse.
It is not known if he will do anything more to facilitate these investigations.
Why this Matters: AG Sessions is everyone’s favorite pincushion. With his soft manner and seeming lack of action to “get Hillary” for her crimes, he has been compared to Elmer Fudd and Mr. Magoo. Yet, one of the latest Q posts says “Trust Sessions.”
Because we’ve seen very little action, we know that if he is busy indicting criminals, it’s happening under the radar. The amount of corruption related to Hillary Clinton, the Uranium One scandal, the Clinton Foundation (slush fund) and pay-for-play schemes while she was Secretary of State is astonishing–and many people are running out of patience to see her and others brought to justice.
How to Pray: That our Father who knows all, sees everything, and loves justice will help us tarry with Him while the stage is being set. Pray for the hearts of those who pursue wickedness to be softened that they might repent.
No “Blue Wave” in Texas
Democrats were very hopeful of a rout in Tuesday’s elections. They called it a coming “blue wave” that could turn Texas from Red to Blue. Their greatest hope was in the challenge to Senator Ted Cruz, but the results went in the opposite direction. It was a Republican blowout, with Cruz winning 1.3 million votes; his nearest Democrat challenger had 641,324 votes.
The Texas governor’s race had a similar outcome. Governor Greg Abbot won three times as many votes as his nearest Democrat challenger.
Mark 10:27 – And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
