Boldness for Christ

Taken from PP&S Magazine (c) 2013

“Pastor Caspar McCloud is becoming a regular here and his contributions speak for themselves!  His article exhorts us to be bold and take the church to the world. Thanks Caspar”….L A Marzulli
We read in Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

It appears that in the 1st Century Church some had forsaken the gathering of assembling together, perhaps because of the persecutions that were going on. (Hebrews 10:25.) However, clearly, the Lord has instructed us to gather together in order that we should exhort one another to stay in faithfulness, more and more, as the Day of Christ draws near. We are to be watching and preparing for the return of Christ , as we read and learn from 1

Corinthians 1:8  Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Since we are called to walk a narrow path of holiness, I cannot help observing today, how it appears to me that most peopleare expecting to be entertained by going to church instead of being The Church. Somehow instead of bringing the Gospel intothis world, the world seems to have gotten into the churches, in contrast to what the Lord has said it should be. It appears to methat, since the Gospel isn’t always being presented properly and as faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God,prophecy is being fulfilled in these last days. We observe the rise of motivational speakers, gaining great popularity, speakersgiving feel good messages that tickle the peoples’ ears.

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

As a result, people think they need counseling, when what they really need is ministry, because the real issue is that we all need to learn to deal with and get rid of the sin in our lives, and get right with the Lord. This is why the Lord created Repentance, so we could use it ,’ come clean’ and become clean. The Bible says our spirits can get dirty just like our flesh can.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

It always comes down to this one thing, S in is the basic problem at the root of all the troubles we encounter in this fallenworld. Also, there is another important issue concerning our personal sins and that relates to those experiences that havehappened to us in our lives over

which we have had no control. Consequently we are all dealing then with generational sins and iniquities as well, which means that the sins of our fathers have been past down and have

even altered or modified our DNA.

Those sins in our generations, that no one repented for, have somehow altered the eggs and sperm with information that actually rewrote the DNA in such a way that it changed some genetic codes indelibly. These codes then are passed onto the children up to the third and fourth generations. The changing of genetic code, is called ‘transgenerational epigenetic inheritance,’. Research is showing that something outside the cell is influencing it and altering things by turning on and off certain controls and switches in the genes.

Although we live in a fallen world ,praise God for sending the Lord Jesus/Yashua to save us and for sending us the gifts of the Holy Spirit to use as the Holy Spirit teaches us all things that the Lord has told us. (John 14:26).The Lord desires that we obey him, be in divine health, and prosper, but He is also willing to restore and heal us supernaturally if we need as we come into agreement with His Holy Word.

1 Thessalonians 5: 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

All ministry is really about placing the Gospel truth in our hearts and casting out the devil’s lies. From living in a fallen world, all of us have pretty much experienced hurtful and/or traumatic events that seem to have had a lasting influence on us.

Papa God designed us with the ability to remember the past good times and the bad times. But  what  do  we  do  when these past  bad  memories are sometimes so painful that they effect our present and our future? What is the remedy? Where inthe Bible do we offer help to those who are hurting emotionally and or physically from experiences they did not choose, the personwho has been abused and now suffers from a broken heart.

The Lord Jesus was tempted of the devil just as we are today. After being tempted by the evil one, who had misquoted the scriptures by taking them out of context, Jesus was able to answer and resist every temptation and taunt by the  power of theWord of God. Jesus/Yashua quoted the Scriptures properly and defeated the devil . We read in Luke 4 :13-22 how the supernatural power of the Lord came on Jesus/Yashua after this and he went into Galilee and the places round about , healing the sick and doing miracles and in this way, he became well known. He ends up in the synagogues, where he grew up in Nazareth, and, as was his

custom , he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read. When he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. ” Then he closed the book and gave it back to the minister and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.  Jesus/Yashua then said to them something amazing, ” This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.” All those people started to question and reasoning among themselves, saying , Is not this Joseph’s son?

Jesus read out of Isaiah 61, quoting part of the prophetic passage written about himself, saying, “ today this scripture is fulfilled”, toHis friends and relatives that were present. Can you imagine how they must have struggled with the truth here? Just like peopletoday struggle with hearing the truth.

Now when the Spirit is “ upon someone”  it indicates His moving that individual to do some supernatural work. Let me remind you that Jesus/Yashua said to all his disciples then and now in John 14:12       “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father”.

Nowhere do we see an example given of the Holy Spirit coming upon someone , who remains powerless to do that which  the Lord has called them to do. The Gospel means Good News, good news to the poor, destitute and needy, those who have been abused and had their hearts broken. It means deliverance to the captives from their sin, sickness, and death. When the atonement of Christ is fully embraced, the sick, sinful, helpless, broken hearted and needy are restored. When we meet the conditions of the Bible, like humbling ourselves and worshipping the Lord, being a doer of His Word, staying in faith and submitting our whole heart to the Lord, I believe we shall see answered prayers.

All those who are suffering in this life now have good news, through the promised Messiah

Jesus/Yashua’s all powerful name.

To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. Luke 4:19 is a reference to the year of

Jubilee .The Bible instructs us that every Israelite who had become enslaved was to be made free. How much more shall we be made free today who are born again since Jesus/Yashua paid the ultimate complete price for our freedom at the cross?

This same Jesus Christ of Nazareth, as you know, is the one who has come to bring freedom to all those suffering the consequences of past events ,over which they may never have had any control.

I tell you the truth, I am not comfortable with a number of things that go on in this world as the day of our Lord approaches. Rather than allow the world into the Church, let us take the

Church into the world, without all the paganism, witchcraft and doctrines of men and devils that have infiltrated over the last 1700 years or so. Let us get back to what the Lord told us to do. Let us employ the supernatural gifts we have been given according to1 Corinthians 12.

So I am going to keep pursuing the basics here with you, and encourage you to do the same. Because as true disciples and representatives of the Lord, we are to preach, teach and share the Gospel, heal the sick and cast out demons in Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Messiah Yashua’s mighty name.

And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:19-20 .
